Finally!

Sorry for not updating frequently, I was very deep in animating. But, after pulling many all nighters, I finally finished my thesis! I gotta say, I’m pretty happy with how it turned out. I’m excited to be done and to create new things in the future.

Hey guys! Here are the new, improved boards. Now shorter, with different plot, some new images, and a super different ending!

Some scenes I did not redraw to what they actually will be now, such as the transformation as she falls into the water. But after some serious suggestions as well as help from my 423 class on my voiceover script, I now have this new product!

I painted a bunch of backgrounds! I wasn’t sure what to use at first, but someone in my class suggest gouache paints and I loved the look! The pirate ship was made with watercolor pens.

After my IP review, I changed a couple of parts. I made the opening part longer, I made the mermaid a bit scarier by having her flip Anna in, and I shortened the happy bits in the end.

They are finally done!

And! I added some test sound, so it’s not just two minutes of silence.

I’m so close! This will be DONE by the time I get back from break. I didn’t make my last deadline, but I scheduled it way too early for a reason!

Welcome to my IP blog! IP stands for Integrated Project, and its my senior thesis project at Stamps School of Art and Design at the University of Michigan. Here I will be posting process work as well as some fun sketches that I make along the way.

I made this website after I had already started my project. So, for a bit I’ll just be playing catch-up to get my blog here caught up to the now. I’ll date them as to when they happened, even though the website may say otherwise.
